NBN's 1Gbps not news, just 'clarification'
With exquisite timing prime minister Julia Gillard has 'announced' an 'upgrade' to the capabilities of the NBN saying it will deliver not 100Mbps but 1Gbps to subscribers. The reality is it has been able to do that all along. NBN Co has simply clarified its rules.

Do we need Coalition's $100m net protection measures? asks EFA
Electronic Frontiers Australia has welcomed the bundle of Internet protection measures announced the Coalition as being superior to both the ALP's heavy handed censorship plans and to former Howard Government policy, but has questioned whether the problems merit the $100m budget allocated.
